What the heck is travertine I hear you ask ? Its the marble looking stone that is actually a form of limestone. The best thing about it is its natural colour which may explain why the Esty 2021 home decoration report on trends reported a whopping 361% increase in the search word ‘travertine table’.
Travertine is also being sold in the design world as the new neutral. It comes complete with its own unique textural & colour variation.
A bonus is its raw and organic vibe. It’s also featured massively in the latest issue of Real Living magazine.So I thought I might as well see what all the fuss was about and pop one in a moodboard.
During designing the moodboard I had the profound realisation that I love it. Given that I am practically a lizard (and avid sun hunter) the thought of a big hunk of stone in my house would normally raise my heart rate, but you know what…. I think travertine does have a place in this world and I’m a fan. I definitely hear the love from travertine.
